Jammu : With the next Test championship cycle starting for India from tomorrow, Rohit Sharma’s men will be up against Kraigg Brathwaite led West Indies who are morally down after their exit from 50-over World Cup.
India will be hoping to begin the new cycle in a winning way and get another chance of qualifying for the final of the test championship where it has remained runners-up twice.
After losing the Test championship final against Australia recently in England, India has made a couple of changes and youngster Yaishwai Jaiswal is expected to fill in the spot left by Cheteshwar Pujara. In absence of Muhammad Shami, the bowling attack will be led by Muhammad Siraj and supported by likes of Jaidev Unakkad, Shardul Thakur and R Ashwin.
The battling line of Indian side will be depending on the experience of its captain Rohit Sharma at the top with Shubman Gill, who has recently performed well in tests also, and middle order will be revolving around Virat Kohli.
The first test of the two-match test series will begin tomorrow in Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica and the match will begin 7 pm IST.
For West Indies it will be an opportunity to get back the confidence and make a winning start against the Indian side. After their exit from World Cup qualifiers recently in Zimbabwe, the island nation will be in a tremendous pressure against India in the original form of cricket and would like to perform well.
