Srinagar: Heavy snowfall is expected in the higher reaches of Kashmir over the next 12 to 18 hours, according to the latest weather forecast.
Weather experts have predicted that areas including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Doodhpathri, and Pahalgam are likely to receive significant snowfall during this period. Snow accumulation in these higher altitude regions is expected to range between 6 inches and up to 2 feet.
Meanwhile, the plains of Kashmir are forecast to experience moderate to heavy rainfall showers during the same timeframe. The wet weather conditions may continue through the night and early hours.
Officials and weather observers have advised travelers and residents in higher altitude areas to remain cautious as heavy snowfall could affect road connectivity and visibility in some locations.
According to the forecast, weather conditions are expected to improve by tomorrow afternoon, bringing relief after the ongoing spell of rain and snow.
