Shopian: To mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, District Police Shopian organized a Mega Anti-Drug Rally from Police Station Shopian. The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to mobilize public support for a drug-free society.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from police personnel, students, civil society members, and youth volunteers. Participants carried placards and banners displaying anti-drug messages and marched through the main streets of Shopian town, urging the community to join hands in the fight against drug addiction.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Shopian Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS emphasized the collective responsibility of society in curbing the menace of drugs. He highlighted the proactive role being played by the police in tackling drug trafficking and rehabilitation efforts in the district.
ASP Shopian, DySP Hqrs Shopian, SHO PS Shopian/Heerpora, DO Keegam and other officers/officials of District Police Shopian have actively participated in the said rally.
District Police Shopian reiterated its commitment to continue awareness campaigns and strict action against those involved in drug peddling. The event concluded with a pledge taken by all participants to stay away from drugs and contribute to building a healthier, safer society.
