Jammu, September 5: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced a squad for the upcoming cricket ODI world cup which will begin in India in October.
The squad was announced by BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar after consulting team India Captain Rohit Sharma in Kandy Sri Lanka.
The squad one new entry K L Rahul, who has been declared fit and will also join the team India for the super 4 squad of Asia Cup being held in Sri Lanka.
The BCCI has decided to keep Ishan Kishan in the team instead of Sanju Samson whereas leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and veteran off spinner R Ashwin have been kept out.
The squad includes Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Ayer, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya (vice-captain), Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav.
