One Killed, Teenager Injured in Motorcycle Collision on Chanapora Bridge

Srinagar, July 26: A motorcyclist was killed and his pillion rider injured after two motorcycles collided on Chanapora Bridge in Srinagar on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Imad Aijaz, son of Aijaz Ahmad Mughal, a resident of Karnah presently residing at Sebdan, Budgam. He died on the spot after the collision.

The pillion rider, Muskan, daughter of Danish Hussain Shah, a resident of Tangdhar presently residing at Bemina, sustained injuries in the accident. The 18-year-old was shifted to Government Hospital Barzulla for treatment.

Police said the accident involved a motorcycle bearing registration number JK04-4193 and another unidentified motorcycle. The rider of the unidentified motorcycle allegedly fled from the spot immediately after the collision along with the vehicle.

A case has been registered, and further investigation has been taken up to identify and trace the absconding rider. [KNT]
