Hajin, May 4: In a major action against the growing drug menace, police in coordination with civil administration officials demolished two shops belonging to an alleged notorious drug peddler in the Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday.
The action was taken against Lal Din Sheikh, son of the late Gh Mohi-ud-Din Sheikh, a resident of Hakbara Hajin, who is reportedly involved in narcotics-related activities.
Officials said the demolition drive forms part of an intensified campaign to curb drug trafficking and dismantle the support structures enabling the illegal trade. The move sends a strong message to those involved in such unlawful activities.
Authorities reiterated their firm commitment to eradicating the drug menace from the region, stating that strict and sustained action will continue against offenders to ensure a safer and drug-free society.
