In a statement, the CIK said that these accused persons were wanted in a Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) case, FIR No. 05/2007 U/s 489A, 489B & 489C RPC of Police Station CID (CI), Jammu and have been absconding for a prolonged period of 10 years. They have deliberately evaded the process of law during the trial before the Hon’ble Court of Principal Session Judge, Jammu.

Based on specific, actionable intelligence, the Fugitive Tracking Team of CID (CI) Jammu mounted a swift and well-coordinated operation, leading to his arrest in Jammu. Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court and has been remanded to judicial custody.

This operation once again reaffirms the zero-tolerance approach of CID J&K towards FICN operatives and their ecosystem. The agency remains firmly committed to tracking fugitives, breaking FICN/terror support structures, and ensuring that no accused involved in FICN/terror-related offences escapes the reach of law, reads the statement.(GNS)
